Living aboard posed a number of problems, the first of which being that the barge had a through hull loo. If I peered down into the toilet bowl, all I could see was a welders bald head! Another was that the kitchen sink now drained out right over the workers lunch bench! Clearly, things were going to get a bit basic over the next few weeks and it was time to dig out the buckets. During those weeks inside, I lived in a twilight world. Welders woke me at dawn with showers of sparks flying up past my bedroom window. |
