ICC PP Barge Handling Couses
ICC PP Barge Handling Couses To buy, convert and learn how to pilot an 82 tonne 1922 Dutch barge has been an adventure in every sense. Why not join me aboard and learn how I did it So while the shipyard worked on the exterior, I set about beating the living daylights out of the inside, depositing whatever I didn't need in a skip that I hired at HUGE expense from Biffa. Being able to simply drop the spoils over the side within the hanger after the yard workers had gone home was a huge bonus. Being in the shipyard, I also had access to hoists and a fork lift truck which proved invaluable when it came to removing a heavy old paraffin heater and massive but leaking paraffin tank I exposed in the bow (see above). In fact, in hindsight, I couldn't have done what I did after I'd left the shipyard. The work was extremely hard and dirty and all I had to wash in for three weeks was a bucket
