After all the destruction, the foul stench of both welding and my armpits, I was overjoyed to see Vitesse slip back into the canal outside the shipyard. I had thoroughly checked that all the work had been done to my satisfaction and signed off the bill which enabled the Groningen Notary to release the withheld funds in payment. Vitesse was utterly filthy both inside and out due to all the dust, so I set about giving her a mighty good top to toe clean. By the time I'd finished, I too was as clean as Barge Nilaya and you have no idea how glad I was to be able to use that loo after three weeks! |
