Clothing suitable for a barge cruise

The atmosphere aboard is informal, so casual clothes are your best option. Slacks, jeans, shirts and blouses are perfect, but in the evenings a sweater or fleece will pay dividends. Shorts, T and polo shirts are cool on warmer days but don't forget to pack good quality sun cream. Formal clothing, ties and jackets are not required.

Comfortable, soft or rubber soled trainers (sneakers) or deck shoes are essential for safe movement about the deck. High heels are completely unsuitable and could be dangerous.

Baseball caps are ideal headwear because they shield you from the sun and stay firmly attached when on the move or out cycling.

A wind and waterproof jacket plus fold away umbrella might also prove handy because the weather in Europe is changeable at best and it's important that you pack accordingly.
