I knew that destroying the old interior was going to be a challenge, particularly with regard to getting rid of all the old materials in a country where its only holes in the ground were generally full of water! The Dutch recycle everything and my not being a resident meant that I couldn't even use the local dump or recycling centre. Also, had I left this demolition until I was moored in a marina, I could well be asking for even more problems trying to get rid of the huge amount of debris created.
